The Benefits of a Doula
A doula is a professional birth support person. She provides emotional, physical and informational support with the goal of helping mothers have the birth they desire. Studies show that having a doula present during the birth significantly reduce the overall length of labor, reduce the need for pain medication, reduce interventions, reduce the likelihood of a cesarean birth and mothers report having a more positive birth experience.
